Terms of Service.
These terms govern your use of maisondethu.com and any services offered through it by Maison de Thu, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“the studio,” “we,” or “us”). By using the site, sending an inquiry, joining the correspondence, or settling an invoice, you accept what follows.
The Studio
Maison de Thu, LLC is organized under the laws of the State of Oregon and offers interior design, creative direction, and brand stewardship services. Project work is performed under separate written engagement letters. Nothing on this website is itself a contract for design services; the engagement letter is.
What This Website Is
The site is a place of introduction. Photographs, written notes, and material selections shown here represent the studio’s point of view and prior work. Anything offered as guidance is offered without warranty. Material availability, pricing, and trade relationships change. Confirm specifications with us before relying on them for purchase or construction.
Inquiries and Correspondence
When you write the studio through the inquiry form or join the correspondence, you are asking us to hold your name, email, and the notes you share so we can reply or send our quarterly letter. We do not sell your information, run advertising against it, or trade it to third parties. You may ask to be removed at any time by writing to studio@maisondethu.com.
How we handle the information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Payment
Invoices are issued from our office through Stripe. Card and ACH payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms. The studio does not store your card number; Stripe does. We see the last four digits and the brand. Payment terms, deposits, milestones, and refund language for a specific project are described in that project’s engagement letter and take precedence over this page.
Work preceding a full commission — site visits, assessment, measured observation, and written direction — is performed under the studio’s Discovery agreement and is settled before that work begins. Where a commission follows, the Discovery fee is credited in full against it. Where none follows, the assessment has been delivered and the fee is earned.
Intellectual Property
The wordmark Maison de Thu, the photographs taken by or for the studio, the written notes on this site, and the design system that gives the site its appearance belong to Maison de Thu, LLC. You may quote a sentence or share a single image with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, train models on the content, or use the studio’s name or marks to imply endorsement.
Drawings, schedules, specifications, and other deliverables produced under a project engagement remain the intellectual property of the studio unless the engagement letter assigns them otherwise. Clients receive a license to use them for the project they were drawn for.
Third Parties
This site relies on a small number of outside services to function: Squarespace hosts the page, FormSubmit delivers form submissions to our inbox, Stripe handles payment, and Google Fonts serves a typeface. Each of these vendors operates under its own terms. Their handling of any data is described in the Privacy Policy.
No Warranty
The site is offered as-is. The studio does not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser. Photographs and described materials are illustrative; actual colors, finishes, and material lots vary. For project decisions, rely on the engagement letter and the approved specifications, not on the website.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Oregon law, the studio’s aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of the website — outside of paid engagement work, which is governed by its own engagement letter — is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing Law and Venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of the website or these terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon, and each party consents to that jurisdiction and venue.
Changes
The studio may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is the one posted on this page. Material changes will be noted by updating the date below. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
Contact
Questions about these terms are welcome. Write to studio@maisondethu.com and a reply will follow within the week.
